Why You Shouldn’t Be So Quick to Bash Steph Curry

After the conclusion of last nights game, and ultimately the series, the first thing I made sure I did was check twitter. Twitter is my main source of news and entertainment, so I thought it would be interesting to see how others responded to seeing the Raptors take down the defending champs. However, what I saw more than anything on the app was unnecessary Steph Curry slander. While I did see a few tweets that commended Steph Curry on his tremendous effort in this game and series, many of them did not give Curry the benefit of the doubt. Some of the tweets that I came across last night went a little like this, “We’re not giving Steph Curry a pass for this because Lebron didn’t get one in 2015” or “I don’t care if KD and Klay went down, Steph did not get the job done plain and simple”. I understand that the devastating injuries to Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving made winning the finals that year virtually impossible, but I really don’t see the point in revisiting that. In my opinion if Love and Irving had stayed healthy in 2015 that series most likely goes to seven games. On the other hand, if KD and Klay had stayed healthy in this series, the Warriors probably would have won the title in five games. While Love and Irving are great players, they are no match for KD and Klay. The conversation has now shifted from stars to superstars, and having one of the greatest shooters of all time, and one of the most dominant offensive players in the game would have helped the Warriors cruise to a three peat in my mind.
